- The sight and smell of jasmine blooming and the fact that I am surrounded by it this time of year in San Diego.
- Soaking in the details of these days with Connor that I know will become distant memories. Seeing myself become a better person with each moment of motherhood that passes.
- Green tea in the afternoon, made the old fashioned way with water and a tea kettle. Watching the steam rise and tasting the earth.
- The feeling during intense physical exertion when I realize that it is challenging yet temporary, I am in the zone, and I have totally got this.
- Remembering the smell and feeling of Streak's soft fur against my cheek. Placing flowers with her framed picture every week and carving out this time to savor the memories.
- Being half of what makes up a whole with Dylan, and knowing I would not trade places with anyone.
- The cake-in-the-bathtub scene in The Cat in the Hat Comes Back.
- The thrilling possibility of what lies ahead. Making sure not to live too fast, because it's what's right around the bend that moves me forward.
